To NJCU ON MASS TRANSIT

Getting to NJCU from Manhattan on Public Transit
Give yourself about an hour to reach NJCU from Manhattan, about an hour and fifteen minutes from Brooklyn.
PATH – You can use your regular MetroCard. Discounted and auto refill MetroCards do not work for PATH.
Path > Light Rail > Shuttle BusTake the Path to Exchange Place or Newport and get on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. Buy a ticket and punch it in the validation machine. Take Light Rail to Liberty State Park and get on a “West Side Ave” shuttle bus. The Light Rail does not go to “West Side Ave” for the forseable future, becuase of construction.
You may have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for the shuttle bus to start moving and it takes around 25 minutes to get to the West Side stop.
From that stop, walk four blocks south on West Side Avenue. Turn left at the Miss America Diner onto Culver Avenue. Walk past the Fitness Center, cross the street and the Visual Arts Building will be on your left.
Light Rail tickets are $2.25 and you can use a credit card in the machine. You have to stamp it in the validation machine before riding.
PATH – $2.75 Discounted and auto refill MetroCards do not work for PATH.
Path > Local Bus (bus, one way $1.60)Take the Path train to Journal Square in Jersey City. You will arrive at a bus station. Inside the station, take the #10 Bus to NJCU. You will get off on JFK Boulevard, near Hepburn Hall/Lemmerman Gallery. This takes about 25-30 minutes.
Or, from Journal Square, take the #80 Newark Avenue/Gates Avenue bus to Culver and West Side avenues.
From there, walk to campus, turning left at the Miss America Diner. Walk past the Fitness Center, cross the street and the Visual Arts Building will be on your left.
Path > Uber or Lyft Take the Path train to Journal Square in Jersey City. Get an Uber or Lyft. This should cost around $8-$10, but don’t quote me on that.
One Bus from Port Authority (about $4.00, 1 hour)
Take the #119 bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal, Gate 1 directly to the University. Tell the driver you want to stop at NJCU.
